Join Jawaher’s - Everything Tomato Sauce



Let's just get to the point!


What you'll need:

  • 2 x 400g cans of crushed tomatoes (make sure they’re sugar free)

  • Handful of cherry tomatoes - optional

  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 whole head of garlic

  • 1 tablespoons tomato paste - optional

  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano

  • 2 tablespoons dried basil

  • 2/3 cup bone broth (or 3 small cubes of frozen bone broth) - optional but would highly recommend

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions:

Place one can of crushed tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and garlic in a blender and blend

To a pan, add the olive oil, with blended sauce, the second can of crushed tomatoes and the rest of the ingredients and stir

Cook down on a low/medium flame

Once it started to bubble cover and reduce to a low flame

Cook down the sauce until it thickens

This should take 45-1 hour depending on how thick you want the sauce.


Tip: keep stirring so the sauce doesn’t burn



Adding bone broth to the sauce adds so much nutrients to the sauce and also adds so much depth and flavor! So try not to skip this if you have bone broth on hand!



Jawaher’s tip: if you have picky eaters just add less garlic and herbs and adjust to your personal liking - it’s your sauce!
